AB&I participated in events to honor Dr. Martin Luther King today.  AB&I General Manager Michael Lowe joined Bishop Bob Jackson, Supervisor Nate Miley, and other leaders in the community for a 5 mile MLK parade through East Oakland.  The parade ended at Verdese Carter Park where the community came together in remembrance of Dr. King.  Bishop Jackson reminded everyone that Dr. King would have been 90 years old.

AB&I team members joined more than 198 volunteers at the Alameda Food Bank which they storted and bagged 42,000 pounds of food.

Zeydi Gutierrez joined the MLK Jr. Drum Major for Freedom Breakfast, A New Era, A New Way. Allen Temple Health and Social Services’ purpose for this event is to continue the legacy of community service.   Congresswoman Barbara Lee made special remarks.  Assembly member Rob Bonta also spoke about the importance of the day and relayed an anecdote about his father recording MLK’s speech and joining the movement.
